AIR_Frankfurt Artist Talk with Maike Häusling and Daniel Stubenvoll
(scholarship holders of the residencies in Seoul and Kuala Lumpur 2018)
Wed, 6 February 2019, 7 pm, basis reading room

Frankfurt artists Maike Häusling and Daniel Stubenvoll talk about their diverse experiences during their AIR_Frankfurt residencies at lostgens' (Kuala Lumpur) and the MMCA Residency Goyang (Seoul) in 2018. The evening will also provide an opportunity to learn more about AIR_Frankfurt and its partner organisations. Deadline for Frankfurt artists for this year's stays ends on February 12, 2019.

Maike Häusling will present her photographic impressions, the process of creation and the documentation of her work. In Kuala Lumpur, Häusling collected sounds and architectural photographs of the city undergoing radical change as part of an artistic field research project. She processed these impressions into movable paper sculptures, which she showed on site at lostgens' in the exhibition "CAN / CANNOT" together with photographic cityscapes and a sound collage as a site-specific spatial installation.

As part of the artist talk, Daniel Stubenvoll presents "a photo album in the form of a Power Point presentation with holiday pictures, personal photographic sketches for future projects, a review of the work done and the tastiest food. Additional information on collaborative processes and some local circumstances. About 40 minutes."

The talk will be in German.
The artist-in-residence program "AIR_Frankfurt" was founded in 1990 by the Frankfurt Cultural Department and has been run by basis since 2016.
