Noch bis Freitag, den 31. Juli, ist die Ausstellung Flint House Lizard von Ani Schulze bei basis zu sehen. Die Künstlerin zeigt eine filmische Arbeit sowie Zeichnungen und Textil-Arbeiten, die eine fragmentarische Erzählung über die Auswirkungen der Sonne auf das menschliche Verhalten bilden.

Die filmische Arbeit Flint House Lizard (2019) kreiert einen surrealen Mikrokosmos, in dem sich Körper, Natur und Technik gegenseitig durchdringen und beeinflussen. Einzelne Formen und Elemente aus der filmischen Arbeit finden sich ebenso in den Zeichnungen sowie den Textilarbeiten der Künstlerin wieder.

The exhibition Flint House Lizard by Ani Schulze is on  view until Friday, 31 July 2020. The artist will show a filmic work, as well as drawings and textile works that form a fragmentary narrative based on the effects of the sun on our human behaviour.

The filmic work Flint House Lizard (2019) creates a surreal microcosm in which body, nature and technology interpenetrate and influence each other. Individual forms and elements from the film work are also found in the artist's drawings and textile works.

On various levels, Ani Schulze addresses the question of the mythological, technological and scientific significance of the solar cycles. In their composition, the individual works form fragmentary references to a process of control as well as to the permanent negotiation with oneself and others. They continue to tell of an indeterminate force and place physical empowerment and collective action in a complex frame of reference.
